Hey everybody, listen up! These are the rules you have to follow on this forum!
Behavior
- First and foremost, respect everyone. Follow the golden rule i.e. treat others how you would like them to treat you.
- Swearing is definitely allowed, but if someone asks that you do not swear at them or when talking to them, respect their wishes.
- No misgendering, transphobia, homophobia/queerphobia, racism, sexism. Period. I shouldn't have to explain this one.
- Unfortunately, due to the imperfection and unreliability of online translators, please make sure all of your posts are at least partially in English (this could involve providing a translation, yourself) so your behavior can be monitored by the mods.
- On that note, do not ridicule your fellow users on spelling, English, or grammar errors. Politely correcting someone is fine, but respect is key in a community.
- Do not threaten the safety of anyone, even if they are not a member of this forum.*
- There is a fine line between debate, which is allowed, and all out online wars. Make sure everything you post follows the above rules even when opinions butt heads.
Posting
- No spamming in the topics, threads, inboxes, or shoutbox.
- Please do not double, triple, etc. post a thread. I know that sometimes computers make mistakes and not every double post is intentional, but multiples of one post will be deleted by mods. This rule does not result in banishment and will only result in warnings.
- Do not post chain comments or messages anywhere in the forum, this includes people's inboxes.
- Always keep on topic. Off-topic posts will be removed and will result in a warning.
- Advertisements for other websites, forums, online games, online groups (such as guilds) or social media accounts are allowed as long as they are not off-topic. You must be the owner of any social media accounts you advertize.
- Advertizements for non-ChanditoParadise products that must be purchased will be removed from the forum and will result in a warning.
- All NSFW material, and this includes explicit gore and heavily sexual themes, must be of fictional characters only. We will not allow the mutilation or sexualization of any person, whether or not they participate in this forum.* It also must be tagged as such in the title. Example: "[NSFW] PASWG discussion thread". You may not post anything NSFW in a SFW thread.
Reporting Misconduct
- Please always report to the mods when you are mistreated or see someone else mistreated. When you do, provide a link to the misconduct for the mods to check. We will ultimately decide if the rules have been broken or not, not you.
- Breaking any of the above rules will result in a warning *however issues that threaten the safety of anyone can result in immediate banishment depending on the severity. After being warned, any further misconduct will result in certain privileges as a member of the forum being lost (cannot PM**, cannot post in the topics***, etc.) and further misconduct will result in being banned from this forum all together.
- Warnings are never removed from the staff record. They do not affect how we will treat you on a daily basis but can affect treatment in how to deal with any of your later misconducts.
**Members who have lost the ability to PM are still able to PM staff.
***This does not include the shoutbox.
Regaining Member Privileges
- If you have been previously banned from member privileges (this does not include banishment from the forums), users can appeal to the mods after at least one month of banishment to give these privileges back to you by starting a topic in the rules section, where every other user may contribute evidence and reasoning either for or against your privileges being returned to you. ALL of the contributions must have solid evidence to back them as we will not allow anyone to play favorites. Before making a final decision, mods will check past warnings, offenses, links provided as evidence, and look up as much of your posting history as we can to make this process as fair as we possibly can.
- Bringing user privileges back to a user is a completely user run operation. This is because we will not bring back the privileges of a user if doing so threatens the safety of other users. The mods will not bring anyone's privileges back if no one asks because we cannot make sure that no one will feel threatened by this. When a topic is made then anyone who feels threatened by this situation will have the chance to speak up.
In the end, we're all here to have fun, so don't let these rules intimidate you too much. We just want everyone to feel safe, here. Always feel free to bring up suggestions on how we can improve the rules by starting a thread in this topic. Happy posting!
